Canada’s longest running Muslim youth group

Established in 1985, the Muslim Youth of North America began as it currently runs: as an organization for the youth, by the youth. The realization that its youth––the growing and vibrant, yet marginalized and neglected segment of Muslim North America––were without the means and opportunity to channel and cultivate their talents and energies in a truly impacting and Islamic fashion led to the inception of an idea, an idea that inspired a determined group of youth to organize programs at ISNA conventions and conferences.

After MYNA as an idea was presented, discussed, debated, and structurally fine-tuned at the First Annual Muslim Youth Winter Conference in December of 1985, it was approved. That winter marked the beginning of MYNA’s history as an organization.

Events to look forward to

Throughout the year, we run:

  • Regional Summer Camp (August)

  • Winter Retreat (December)

  • Qiyams (Monthly/throughout the year)

  • Islamic Character Development Retreats

  • Recreational Trips

  • Shelter Runs

  • Fundraising dinners and events

  • And many more

Our goal is to get youth involved within the community and allow them to develop leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and other crucial skills that can serve them now and in the future.

MYNA Toronto has been serving our local community for 35+ years, and we hope to continue to do so for years to come, InshAllah.
